The storyline within the movie shows this. Chaplin’s tramp falls in love with Merna, who returns his affection. Then, a tightrope walker named Rex (performed by Henry Bergman) comes on to the scene and Merna instantly falls in appreciate with him. Why? Due to the fact his act is daring and hazardous when Chaplin’s clown act has fewer prestige.
